Rich Presence U v1

The first release version, 1.0 is finally here with major changes.

Highlights

Now on Linux and macOS

Previously Rich Presence U was only compatible with Windows, but now it supports Linux and macOS!

Both Windows and Linux builds have been fully tested, but the macOS build is still considered experimental, as I personally haven’t been able to test it on a real macOS and couldn't find anyone who could help me with the testing.

Even better user interface

The interface has been extensively improved for better user experience:

  • You can now freely resize the window and the main tabs will adapt to it.
  • The scale of the UI, automatic refresh, theme and language can be set manually.
  • Options and information are organized more clearly.
  • Multiple options now have toggles that allow you to set their visibility in your status without having to modify their set configurations.
  • There are new dialogs to help you if something doesn't go right.

Not to mention new animations I designed to make it even more pleasing to navigate the UI, and as an extra, the light theme has been reintroduced. 🌞️

Account sessions

Oh yes, this is something new that Discord has introduced, they now allow you to utilize multiple account sessions within a single app. To accommodate this change, Rich Presence U now keeps your activity status across multiple account sessions while running, you can reconnect at anytime by clicking on that big green button.

Exactly what the title of this section says. 💃️

Description history

Just like the option to see recently played games was introduced in the previous version, this new version introduces a menu for recently used descriptions.

I wanted to keep this post short, there are many other changes and additions introduced in this release, the changelog in its entirety can be read here

Although the app is now paid (as a mean of supporting my work), the code is still freely available on GitHub for anyone to compile.

Patreon and Ko-fi supporters have access to the binaries at no additional cost.

Since this is a major release and a lot of things have been changed some things can still potentially break, and if that happens, report the problem you are having through this form.

UniMaker DX source code is now public!

The source code for UniMaker DX (the version with the pixel art UI) is now available on my GitHub : https://github.com/ninstar/UniMaker Since I started the transition to UniStudio some people have asked me if I would make the source code for UniMaker DX public, as it is considerably different from UniStudio and previous versions. I said that I would eventually do, so here we are. 🎵 I haven’t done this sooner because I didn’t have enough free time to go through my entire commit history (which is pretty huge if you ask me). 💦 As this is just the source code, keep in mind that it is not meant for most users. In addition to that, the link above does not include the source code for UniStudio, it is still being worked on its own repository. UniMaker 1.S is still the latest stable version. It is preferable that you use that version to create and share your courses.

This is a quick guide on how to use custom themes in UniMaker . For a more in-depth guide on how to make one, please check the manual here . Adding custom theme to a course Pick the "?" theme and save your course; Create a folder and move the course and theme files into it; Go back to the editor and load your course file again. Enabling effect layers To enable effect layers, just click on the cat icon . This will only work if there is at least one effect layer file in the same folder as the course. You can also use effect layers on any built-in theme. Enabling custom songs on built-in themes Open the audio menu and then click on the "?" button. This will only work if there is at least an uni_music_play.ogg file in the same folder as the course.

It's been a while since my last post, hasn't it? I just want to say that although I was (and still am) quite busy working on multiple things, I didn't put this blog aside.
