2D Universe is back!

Going back to its roots, the project now has a definitive title: 2D Universe Studio . 👔 Which also includes a brand new visual identity: A few notes: If you feel that the title is too long, you can simply refer to it as UniStudio , as UniMaker was a shortening for Super Mario 2D Universe Maker . I didn’t shorten it in the logo this time because I want people to have a clear idea of what the title is directly referring to. This doesn’t affect the pixel art style, as it has always been based on Super Mario 2D Universe. This only applies to the current and future versions, legacy versions are not affected. You can follow the devlog for 2D Universe Studio on my Discord server.

Customization Guide | UniMaker 1.S

This is a quick guide on how to use themes with UniMaker 1.S . For a more in-depth guide on how to make themes please read the manual: https://github.com/ninstar/UniMaker/wiki/ Steps [1] In the course maker interface, go to themes menu and then select the “ ? ” option; [2] Save your course and create a folder; [3] Move the course and all customizations files into that folder; [4] Go back to the course maker and load the same course file once again. Enabling effect layers If you want to use custom effects: click on the cat icon to enable them, but it will only work if there is at least one uni_effect_X.png file in the course folder. You can also use effect layers on any built-in theme. Enabling custom songs on built-in themes If you want to use custom songs in another theme: open the audio menu and then select the “ ? ” option.

UniMaker DX source code is now public!

The source code for UniMaker DX (the version with the pixel art UI) is now available on my GitHub : https://github.com/ninstar/UniMaker Since I started the transition to UniStudio some people have asked me if I would make the source code for UniMaker DX public, as it is considerably different from UniStudio and previous versions. I said that I would eventually do, so here we are. 🎵 I haven’t done this sooner because I didn’t have enough free time to go through my entire commit history (which is pretty huge if you ask me). 💦 As this is just the source code, keep in mind that it is not meant for most users. In addition to that, the link above does not include the source code for UniStudio, it is still being worked on its own repository. UniMaker 1.S is still the latest stable version. It is preferable that you use that version to create and share your courses.
